Motivators Hosts Holiday Toy Drive and Donates to Winthrop University Hospital

Westbury-based promotional products distributor Motivators, Inc. donated toys to children at Winthrop University Hospital

Westbury, NY. January 03, 2011. To bring joy to kids during the holiday season, Motivators Promotional Products donated toys to patients at Winthrop University Hospital. Representatives of the company visited the Children Life Program at Winthrop to pass out all the toys that were collected in the office in the several weeks prior to the event. Heartfelt thanks were expressed from Imogene Harrington, the director of the Child Life Program at the Winthrop Hospital where the motto is, "Care without Compromise".

To keep up the Christmas spirit, Motivators employees dressed up as Santa Claus and his elves. Operations manager Anthony McNally had the privilege of taking on the role of Santa, while various other staff supported him in his distribution of the toys. Though the team was not able to come in direct contact with the hospitalized children most of the time, the hospital visit was still extremely effective in raising the morale of the patients who range in age from infant to adolescent. In a letter received from the Child Life Program, one parent was quoted as thanking the Motivators team "for making their child happy again".

Motivators has made a tradition out of paying a visit to the children's hospital during the holidays to give out toys. This year, the items included everything from educational books and board games, to Barbie dolls and toy cars. Motivators CEO Ken Laffer explained why it is so important for the company to participate in the toy drive each year: "We work so hard the entire year to be a successful company, so when the holiday season comes around it is time to give back to the people in need. Nobody could use our help more than children who are struggling."
